Donegal Dexter is a farmer led premium beef collective based in the northwest of Ireland, created to build a local market for Dexter beef, one of Ireland’s oldest native breeds of cattle. We supply local restaurants and deliver our beef boxes nationwide to your door.
What began as a challenge with unpredictable beef prices along with transporting finished cattle long distances, became an opportunity to keep production local, shorten the supply chain, and build a beef brand rooted firmly in place. Our beef is sourced locally within our local farmer network. We are committed to producing high quality, fully traceable beef using traditional farming methods with a strong focus on animal welfare and sustainability.
Our cattle are shaped by the Atlantic landscape and suited to the low input grass systems of the Donegal hills. They thrive on an outdoor year long grazing season with diverse native grasses, herbs and wild plants. This diverse and natural diet contributes to the superior quality of our Irish Dexter beef.
