Tucked into a former shirt factory on Lower Main Street in Letterkenny, this family-run restaurant has been a beloved local institution since 1994. The building’s original stone walls, Victorian cast-iron beams, and worn wooden floorboards dating back to 1800 give it a character that’s hard to manufacture — it simply has to be experienced.
Spread across five different seating areas — from the ground floor and conservatory to upstairs dining, a first-floor patio, and a newly built outdoor patio — there’s always a spot to settle in. And settle in people do; it’s one of those places that’s reliably busy for good reason.
The food is seasonal, locally sourced, and given a modern twist — with much of the produce coming directly from the restaurant’s own garden. Keep an eye on the blackboard for the daily specials, which regularly feature Irish beef, lamb, and fish freshly landed at Killybegs and Greencastle. The drinks list is just as considered, with an impressive Irish whiskey selection and a great range of local beers to round off the evening.
